How it works
myMOTreport helps you research a UK-registered vehicle using official MOT history. Enter a registration number and we retrieve MOT records from the DVSA MOT History API (GOV.UK), then present that data on our website.
1. Enter a registration
Type a UK number plate on the homepage. We check the registration against MOT records before running a full report, so obvious typos are caught early.
2. Standard MOT report (free)
No account is required. You receive the official MOT test history for that registration, including pass and fail results, dates, mileage, advisories, and defects where available: the same core MOT history source as GOV.UK.
3. Advanced report (1 credit)
Sign in with an account that has at least one credit. Advanced reports add automated MOT analysis on top of the standard history: a vehicle score, record checks, interactive charts, pass-rate and usage summaries, optional DVLA vehicle specifications, a downloadable analysis PDF, and side-by-side comparison of advanced reports in your history.
4. Unlock later
If you already have a standard report, you can unlock the advanced report for that vehicle using one credit without running a new report.
5. Credits (optional)
Buy credit packs through Stripe Checkout. Credits are used for advanced reports and unlocks, not for standard MOT history.
Data freshness
To keep the service fast and to reduce unnecessary API usage, we reuse MOT data when it is still current. As the MOT expiry approaches, expires, or fails, we refresh the data more frequently so you see up-to-date results when a new test is likely.
